Workday Marketing Plan for Freelance Writers

Tomorrow, I'm setting aside a big chunk of my workday to go on a marketing blitz.  The marketing part will only take up a few hours, but I'll call it the whole day.

Here's the gameplan.  Why don't you think about hopping on the wagon with me?

9:00 a.m. Create a fresh, fun ad with graphics and text.  Upload to a photo host or blog.

10:00 a.m. Post the fresh, fun ad to and several other sites that accept free ads.

10:20 a.m. Place free classified ads in local papers all over the country.

11:00 a.m. Take a quick lunch break - but away from my desk so that I can recharge, even if I don't feel I need to.

12:30 p.m. Network with everyone on my Facebook, Twitter and other social media accounts to get the word out that I'm on a marketing blitz (and that sales are coming down the pipes).

1:30 p.m. Work on regular, everyday projects so I don't neglect my current clients.

3:30 p.m. Cold call three local businesses and offer my services.

4:30 p.m. Do a happy dance after compiling three packets of promotional materials (including sample brochures, tearsheets of my published work and a handful of business cards) for all three local businesses.

Stop for dinner after the dance and finish any other client work that needs finishing.
